National Trust for Scotland - Glenfinnan

The National Trust for Scotland maintains this unique site at the head of Loch Shiel to the memory of the Jacobite Uprising of 1745. Erected in 1815 the monument is a tribute to the clansmen who fought and died in the Jacobite cause. The Visitor Centre on the site houses a fascinating exhibition, on 'Glenfinnan and the '45' and offers a commentary in four languages about the raising of the standard.
